Two friends can spend their old age together
Cats and dogs rarely become friends. However, this case is an exception.

An eight-year-old dog named Spike and his friend Max were brought together to Saving Grace Animal Society in Alberta, Canada. It turned out that the cat and the dog were very close friends. At the shelter, the two did everything together.

When they were let out to play in the yard, Max was always next to his friend, helping him find his way. No one taught the cat, but he took good care of the dog.

The shelter staff wanted to find a good family for the pair. It was clear that it was impossible to separate them. But it was extremely difficult to find people who would dare to take care of both the cat and the blind dog.

“They are real friends and deserve to continue living together. An older dog who is also blind really needs the help of a friend with whom he has lived all his life,” said shelter director Erin Dims.

To motivate visitors, the shelter offered to pay the mandatory tax just for the dog. The cat could be picked up for free.

The story of Spike and Max touched the hearts of social media users, and thousands of people shared information about them. The shelter has received many offers from those who want to adopt them. While the shelter staff was dreaming, the dog and his loyal guide cat can spend their old age together.
