An 8-month-old dog fell into the river: a passing man rushed to the rescue

Margaret Mungovan was horrified when her active 8-month-old puppy ran wild during a walk and fell down a steep embankment into the river. Although his size can’t be described as tiny, the baby clearly wasn’t ready to leave the river on his own.

While the Richmond, England resident was trying to reach her pet, the situation was seen and assessed by Yousef Al-Asfour, who was out for a jog. He went down the stairs and beckoned the young dog, who, to his credit, reacted correctly and swam as close as he could to the rescue.

Yousef grabbed the animal by the collar, and in a few seconds a happy Margarita snuggled up to her pet and remembered to thank the kind-hearted man profusely.

A puppy named Fudge went to the vet, but it turned out that he was not injured, just a few claws broken on his front paws. We can only hope that he will stay away from the river now and his owner will take care of it.
