23-year-old Heather Tookey lives in the English town of Becknehemen. And her family has an unusual pet.
This story began a few years ago. Once Heather went to South Africa as a seasonal volunteer.
She was at the cheetah reserve.
One of the duties of the society’s staff was to care for orphaned cheetahs.
The volunteers also took care of the adults. It was a kind of business.
The animals were to become trophies for wealthy clients.
Then it occurred to Heather: She has to save the cheetahs. At least one.
Heather started a promotion on social media. She needed to raise a certain amount of money.
The woman’s efforts paid off in full. All cheetahs were purchased and transported to reserves.
Heather invested her own 5,000 pounds and took home a little cheetah kitten.
So she had a new friend.
The woman’s efforts are not enough to stop the cheetah breeding business.
But Heather just could not close her eyes from this occupation.
The cheetah feels comfortable in the company of her rescuer. The spotted pet is very affectionate and friendly. They both have charming, warm selfies. Now the woman is no longer afraid, because next to her is a devoted cheetah friend!
